Sportlust 4 loses a battle

Sportlust 4 loses a battle.
The third game of the season was a game with a special touch. The referee came all the way from England to lead this important match in the Dutch 3rd reserves League. The visitors wore the same white shorts as Sportlust.  According to the ref this was not allowed back home in the FA Cup, but here he would allow it.
The red-white home team had a good, healthy squad of 12 players with ofcourse a new goalkeeper in the name of Jitse (already the 22th player on the form in this early season).

The game plan was to let the visitors play on their own half and attack them on our half. The first element was executed well, the second part poorly. This resulted in several chances for DSO in the first half and none for Sportlust, apart from some dangerous corners. The visitors broke the deadlock just before halftime after a well played pass by the 'Crouch like'- centre forward: 0 -1. In the second half the game become more intense. Sportlust tried to pressurize the DSO-defense which resulted in some half chances. The tackles become more English style. The older visitors needed all their substitutions and used the time-stalling techniques. Although the ref had a good eye on that, he even booked the left back for hesitating at a throw in.
Unfortunately the all or nothing tactic of Sportlust resulted in a goal on the other end. An unnecessary 2-0 defeat against a mediocre opponent, but the individual performances of the players have to improve otherwise wins are not going to happen.
